In our workshop, we can create any shape that you would like, from squares and rectangles to triangles, circles and more, to suit a range of freestanding wood burning stoves or fireplaces. Yes, they can be. If you would like your hearth to sit above floor level, then it is simply a case of putting your slate on the floor, and you are good to go. However, if you would like your hearth to be flush with your floor, this may take a bit more work, however it is still a very easy process.

Yes, slate is non-porous, which means that it does not absorb moisture, therefore it is very easy to clean and maintain. A simple wipe over with a damp cloth, will make it look like new again.
